AOISUN LD-012B6: EOD & Border Security Deployment Success Story
A border security and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit faced a growing threat from remote-controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIEDs) and unauthorized drones operating in rugged, remote terrain. Fixed jamming systems were impractical for mobile patrols, and existing backpack units lacked the power and wideband coverage needed to counter evolving threats. The unit required a lightweight, high-power solution that could operate in extreme temperatures and provide full-spectrum protection during foot patrols and convoy escorts. AOISUN was tasked with delivering a system that combined mobility, power, and reliability.
The AOISUN LD-012B6 Backpack Jammer was selected for its 300W total output, 6-channel design (expandable to 15 bands), and 25–2700MHz wide coverage. Deployed across 8 patrol teams, the system’s ergonomic backpack design allowed operators to move through mountainous terrain with minimal fatigue. Its modular power supply supported both battery and vehicle power, ensuring continuous operation during multi-hour missions. The unit’s -35°C to +80°C operating range and dustproof housing performed reliably in the region’s harsh climate.
- Threat Neutralization: The system successfully neutralized 12 confirmed RCIED signals and 8 unauthorized drone incursions during the 3-month deployment, preventing potential casualties and breaches.
- Operational Flexibility: Teams reconfigured jamming bands in under 1 minute to adapt to new threat frequencies, thanks to the system’s customizable channel design.
- Mission Durability: The LD-012B6 operated continuously for up to 4 hours on battery power during extended patrols, with no downtime due to overheating or environmental conditions.
- Reduced Operator Risk: By enabling standoff jamming, the unit eliminated the need for close-range EOD operations, significantly reducing personnel exposure to danger.
The LD-012B6’s combination of high power and portability made it ideal for this mission. Its 6×50W channels provided strong suppression across common RCIED and drone bands, while the frequency scanning technology ensured full-spectrum coverage. The built-in VSWR, over-voltage, and over-current protections prevented system failure in the field, and the modular design simplified maintenance during long deployments. The unit’s quick-deployment capability allowed teams to activate the jammer within minutes of encountering a threat, critical for fast-moving operations.
Following the successful trial, the unit has standardized the LD-012B6 as its primary mobile jamming solution for border patrol and EOD missions. The system’s performance has led to expanded orders for additional teams and requests for customized band configurations to address regional threat profiles. The deployment demonstrates how AOISUN’s rugged, high-power jamming technology can enhance safety and operational effectiveness in the most challenging security environments.
